Labour Woman

Title

Labour Woman

Description

At first simply a continuation of the League Leaflet (1911-1913), this periodical soon became more substantial, with news and general items of interest to Labour Party women, including articles on socialism, recipes, patterns, a children’s page, etc.. It contained reports of the National Conference of Labour Women, and occasionally gave space to feminist viewpoints at variance with the N.E.C. line (e.g. on birth control), but it did this more rarely from the late 1920s. It finally ceased because a separate women’s paper was felt to be unnecessary.
